Payless, Cooperless


Not sure what I think about the icon that accompanies the type on the new Payless logo. I know it is a "P". Not very harmonious. I love the type and bright colors. Although, I think Cooper will make a comeback. In a world where mass market finally embraces great colors, i.e. Martha Stewart color palette at KMart, I am pleased to see another brave color choice. This new logo has gotten a lot of flack on other design blogs. Plllleeease. it could be worse, right? I have lots of respect for dg* Desgrippes Gobe, the firm that repositioned this brand.

The site says: "The icon is based on the swirl of a kaleidoscope, and it as an embedded "P" to reference the brand name."

I wish I would have done the fresh and easy logo. Great brand and name!----so retro. Soon to open in my neighborhood. I can't wait.
